Elliptic, a London-based blockchain analytics provider, has secured strategic investment from HSBC, marking its fourth backing by a globally systemically important bank. The move signals deepening institutional interest in crypto compliance tools as regulatory scrutiny intensifies.

HSBC's financial crime executive Richard May will join Elliptic's board, reinforcing the bank's commitment to monitoring digital asset flows. The deal follows investments from JPMorgan Chase, Santander, and Wells Fargo in the decade-old compliance specialist.

"Our decade-long preparation for enterprise crypto adoption is being validated," said CEO Simone Maini. The firm's blockchain intelligence services now support over 100 financial institutions navigating crypto's regulatory landscape.
